Highlights from Our Learning
We have had a busy week so far!
Fall arrived yesterday and students have been using their
senses for signs of how we know it is fall. The children started a “fall book”
and copied sentences such as “In the fall I see red, orange, yellow and brown
leaves” and “In the fall I hear birds honking.” Children drew pictures to match their
sentence of choice.
We have also been learning about the legacy of our Canadian
Hero Terry Fox.
Today we exchanged Learning Commons books. Please return
books by next Tuesday.
In math the children have been working on a pattern with the
letters in their names and matching a colour to the letter to make a repeating
pattern.
The children have been sharing their Rooster is Off to See
the World story with various classmates in grade 1.

-Orange Shirt Day is observed on September 30th, but because our grade six students are involved in other activities on that day, BWS will observe Orange Shirt Day on Tuesday, October 1st instead. More information about this day will be forthcoming.
Volunteer Opportunities
Bridlewood School relies on volunteers to help us with fields trips, special lunches and Scholastic Book Fairs, just to name a few examples. We are currently putting together a list of people who may be able to give us the gift of some of their time for these occasions. If you are interested in supporting our school in this way, please email us at Bridlewood@cbe.ab.ca. Please remember that all volunteers must have a current security clearance and have completed a yearly volunteer form. If you need to begin this process, please visit our school office during regular office hours.
